Reading and writing

Elle is now learning her reading and writing. My mom got her a book that had foam peices that she could use to construct all the letters of the alphabet. She now uses whatever she can to make the letters she knows... here she used  watercolor brushes!

For anyone looking for a good tool for teaching kids to read... 100 lessons to teach your child to read is the book we are using. We are just 10 lessons in and Elle is reading words like see, am, sat, mat.... it is really incredible! My friend Heidi used it with her son, and he is a remarkable reader and isn't even in school yet! Elle loves it and asks to do her lessons. (We wouldn't make her do it if she wasn't so on board... since she is just 3 years old.)
